Hill Stations around Mumbai

LonavalaWhen Mumbai overpowers and Pune offers no refuge, when beaches fail to beckon and the heart yearns for greener pastures, head for the evergreen hill station of Lonavala.

KhandalaKhandala is a hill station that is situated at a distance of 120 kms from Mumbai. The peaceful town of Khandala overlooks a picturesque valley and is surrounded by wet-season waterfalls.

Mahabaleshwar - Once a colonial retreat during the British Raj, Mahabaleshwar is a scenic hill station. Mahabaleshwar is liberally perked up with a dash of interesting ingredients for that delicious holiday you have always been meaning to take.

Panchgani is a town in Maharashtra situated midst five hills. It is an eternally beautiful hill station, a favourite escape clause for the Mumbai-weary. Panchgani is perennially fresh and inviting

Matheran, a picturesque, unspoilt hill station at an altitude of 800 metres is cloaked in green. Matheran remains quiet and unpolluted, so far removed from the maddening chaos of big cities largely because no vehicles are allowed within the town.

Bhandardara - There are many charming and little-known hill stations in the Western Ghats, but perhaps none as unpretentious as the little hill-station called Bhandardara in Maharashtra.

Amboli - If you are looking for peace and solitude, Amboli is the answer - a tranquil hill station on the Western Ghats, surrounded by thick forests and tree canopied hills.
